How Do You Sleep ?


The area of the body that takes the most abuse is the spinal vertebra, especially while yours sleeping.

Since the proper function of the spinal vertebra is dependent on the absorption of sufficient fluid during restful sleep, the spine should rest in a natural, supported position.

13 Steps to sleep like a Baby !

Sleep as much as needed to feel refreshed during the following day (usually 8 hrs.). Sleeping too much is as detrimental as sleeping too little.
Get up at the same time each day, 7 days a week. (Regular wakeup in the morning leads to regular times of sleep onset)
A steady amount of activity during the day is condusive to sleep at night.
Insulate your bedroom against random outside noises, block out light and avoid drastic changes in room temperature.
Excessively warm rooms will disturb sleep, keep the room temperature 65 Deg. to 70 Deg. F
Hunger may disturb sleep. A light snack at bed time may help sleep.
Avoid liquids during the two hour period prior to bed time in order to minimise the need for night time trips to the bathroom.
Avoid caffeinated beverages in the evening. No cofee or tea after 6 P.M, switch to decaffeinated soft drinks.
Avoid alcohol in the evenings. Although alcohol helps tense people fall asleep more easily, the second half of the night is very disrupted. Evening alcohol also increases snoring.
The chronic use of tobacco disturbs sleep.
If you find yourself waking up and looking at the clock, put the clock under the bed or cover it up. Do not look at the clock in the middle of the night.
An active mind at bed time is not condusive to falling asleep. People who cannot "turn their minds off " at bed time often benefit from the use of a "white noise" sound generator (for e.g: the humm of a fan, humidifier or air ionising unit) at bed side to "defocus"
